Is Your IT Support Killing It or Killing You?

I think we can all agree that there is no business without IT. And, given that, there are two general states of being when considering your IT; it’s either “I can do my job pretty effortlessly” (in which case it’s because your IT is totally killing it) or “this. is. going. to. kill. me.”, in which case, well, you know.

The difference between the two can be stark, and it can also be less obvious. Especially if you have more or less acclimated to the disfunction of the everyday operation. And, as I talk about here , acclimation can be a slow killer for your business. The worst part being that you may not know your acclimating, and think you are simply getting along with your day. And before you know it, the gears of your business are grinding to a near halt.

You may think I am writing this in hyperbole in order to create fear. In all honesty, I would think the same thing. It all sounds a bit much. But, after more than 15 years in this business, I have seen businesses so mired in their old ways that they are forced to down size, or even close their doors after two generations of doing business. On the other hand, we have seen many more businesses keep IT on the forefront of their priorities and happily benefit from that.

So, the question remains: Is your IT support killing it or killing you? Take this quick test to see where you fall.
