According to Pew research of the US Census data, in 2015 Millennials surpassed Generation X becoming the largest share of the American workforce.

This is the generation that grew up IN technology and have it interlaced in just about every aspect of their lives. Millennials can bring great value when you are open to their ideas on using new technologies to enhance collaboration and communication, since it is what they have done their entire lives.

The Boomer generation has a reputation for being resistant to new technologies but that could not be further from the truth. They have been in the workforce for the decades with the fastest changing technologies in recent memory. From the typewriter to the laser printer, the mimeograph to the copy/scanner, not to mention the emergence of the internet. And for each evolution they have adapted to each one with ease. With their vast experience, Boomers bring immense value in sheer experience. As proven through the decades, Boomers are at their best when given the best tools.

Bringing balance to these two generations is Generation X. Having been raised alongside technology, they started their careers as the internet started to become a major presence in the workplace. Gen Xers have the qualifications that Boomers have and the active openness to technology that the Millennials have. With their experience and technological savviness, they have the ability to make better recommendations and assessments as to the types of technologies that will improve the processes and ultimately profits, of your business. Do you notice the different advantages each generation brings to your organization? How are you leveraging the benefits each generation brings to your organization?
